Matrix Absence Management is one of the top Third Party Administrators (TPA) supporting clients in absence management (FMLA/Disability/Workers' Compensation). We partner with our clients Human Resources department to manage Workers' Compensation, Disability and/or Leave of absences until the claim is resolved or the employee returns to work.  Our highly customer centric approach is to try and duplicate the culture of our clients to make the experience seamless for employees.  Our mobile app technology provides ease of use to our client and employee in reporting claim information.

Position Summary:

The Sr. Systems Administrator's function is to manage a distributed network for 850 people predominately based in 7 centers across the United States. This includes 100 remote users and a 100+ person call center.  This is a key IT administration and support role in a dynamic, fast paced environment where the service to internal and external customers is paramount.  Responsibilities include the oversight of maintenance, support, and implementation of Network, Server, and Telephony related network systems and services as well as coordination with vendors on projects and support.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide communicated strategy to the business. Consult on how existing components and new products can be leveraged to provide business efficiency and cost savings.
  • Provide lead oversight to all infrastructure projects from an engineering and project management perspective.
  • Provide industry proven insight on installation practices and overall topology architectures.
  • Proactive support and administration of production VMWare, Storage, and Enterprise Vault environments.
  • Active Directory maintenance and administration.
  • Oversight of backup processes and operations.
  • Support multi-server Exchange environments and provide consultation and recommendations of hosted environment features such as Office 365 or similar.
  • Support Citrix technologies utilizing Xenapp and Netscalers for virtualized desktop environments and load balanced web applications.
  • Participate as an active member of a cross functional team with an emphasis on business driven team success versus sandboxed responsibility and ownership.
  • Assume key ownership in the evolution and support of multiple supporting systems in the areas of VMWare, Storage, Active Directory, Enterprise Vault, Exchange, Linux, and Windows Server.
  • Provide industry standard VoIP Experience to assist in maintenance or troubleshooting of enterprise phone systems.

Education, Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Must be able to communicate efficiently both verbal and written.
  • 8+ year's experience in a level 2 to 3 server systems support and/or VMWare based administrator position.
  • 1+ years' experience with management of teams and critical business projects.
  • 3+ years' experience surrounding general VoIP telephony and supporting systems.
  • CCNA or CompTIA Network+ level certification or related experience strongly desired.
  • Industry Infosec experience, training and/or certifications strongly desired.
  • VMWare and SAN Administration experience required.
  • Fiber Channel experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of WAN Topologies: MPLS, VPN Systems
  • Administrator level of understanding with Windows Server technologies. Any related certifications are a plus.
  • Administrator level of understanding with Linux Server technologies. Any related certifications are a plus.
  • Network monitoring experience (System/Service State, Hardware, Application State)
  • Ability to provide a security-first perspective to all designs and current environment troubleshooting.
  • Must be detail-oriented and proficient in strategic troubleshooting.
  • Must be able to work outside normal hours on occasion in order to perform diagnosis and/or implementation of product releases or changes.
  • Must have proven ability in a high demand customer service environment.
  • Red Hat Linux Administration knowledge experience is required.
  • Any DevOps experience would be a major plus.
